Dua Lipa is a Brit musician and singer who was born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd 1995. In 2014, after working as a model and actress she signed with Warner Bros Records. She dropped her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album reached the third place on the U.K. Chart for Albums. Eight singles were released and included Be the Only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). It also peaked at number 6 within the United States. Lipa received the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. Her album is certified platinum across a variety of countries. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha as well as Dukagjin Lipa. Her parents are of Bosnian heritage via the maternal grandparents of her. Her ancestors also come from the Kosovo town of Peja. The grandparents of Lipa were both historians. Gjin as well as Rina are her siblings. The father of Lipa, who was a guitar player and singer in the Kosovan group Oda has influenced her in a musical way. In her home, Lipa's father played music by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at age five. When she was nine, she began to learn how to sing. Lipa recorded the song If I Ain't Gotta You from Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. In 2014 Lipa was signed to a contract to Warner Bros. Records. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
